<< BACK TO ALL NEWS The New Rolls-Royce Ghost Extended Wheelbase 2012

Since 2003, luxury car lovers can argue that every year has been the year of the Rolls-Royce Phantom, and as true as that may be, this year could quite possibly be the year of the Rolls-Royce Ghost as its new extended wheelbase model hits production stage.

Described as being "the perfect Rolls-Royce experience for both passenger and driver" by Rolls-Royce themselves, here's why.

Retaining all the essential elements of the original Rolls-Royce Ghost, the new Rolls-Royce Ghost Extended Wheelbase is exactly that: with a wheelbase that has been extended by 6.7inches, although not seeming like a lot, on a luxury vehicle this definitely sizes up making a big difference. This of course allows for a highly relaxing experience for both driver, and especially passenger due to the increased leg-space in the back. What is impressive is that the extra 17cm of length only adds 30kg to the original weight of the Ghost, and this extra length has been executed perfectly by the Rolls-Royce team, blending in smoothly and not ruining the proportions of the original Ghost.

Other minor changes include inclusion of a panoramic sunroof as standard, a completely new style of alloy wheel and a shrinkage in the door mirrors as previous customers complained they were too bulky. Other than that, and a new price tag of £230,000 in comparison to £200,500 for the original, everything is pretty much the same.

The Rolls-Royce Ghost has an impressive presence itself, not as dominating as the Phantom, but still just as classy and stylish. Chief designer Ian Cameron describes the Rolls-Royce Ghost Extended Wheelbase as,

"It's like a well-tailored jacket rather than a formal suit. Its powerful presence and proportions leave you in no doubt that it's cut from the same cloth as the rest of the marque."

The simplest of details have the utmost attention paid to them, which is one key to making Rolls-Royce cars unique.

Internally, the luxury standards are still the best of the best, including amenities such a fully-reclining leather seats, polished wood tables, lambswool rugs, TV screens and individual climate controls as well as everything else, giving you the impression you have entered your own private sanctuary. The same engine specifications make sure your Ghost Extended Wheelbase journeys are without any engine noise, as with the original, not even making a whisper of sound.

The Extended Wheelbase Ghost is bigger and better than the Ghost, still giving you the same luxury experience as the original, but just with more room for that experience to take place in. Both are exquisite pieces of automobile handicraft and don't forget, you can book your Rolls-Royce Ghost through Kudos Cars today.
